Meet Emily

Hi, I'm Emily

I’m a warm, upbeat celebrant with 15 years’ experience marrying people. I'm also a writer and creative, experienced event manager and a hopeless romantic.

I want the couples I work with to feel confident, calm and 100% supported. That’s why one of the first things I ask is what you want from your ceremony — and what you absolutely don’t.

How it started...

Before I became a celebrant, I was a wedding singer.

I watched countless weddings follow exactly the same formula. They were stuffy and formal, really impersonal and involved a celebrant acting a bit like a game show host (often in a taffeta suit). This is totally not my vibe and I knew there was a way to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere that was also poignant, beautiful AND celebrated a couple's unique story, personality and values.

How it's going

Over the past 15 years I’ve officiated over 250 weddings and 100 commitment ceremonies. I've worked with some beautiful couples, in some beautiful places. I've also noticed that

despite having different professions, cultures and backgrounds, the couples I work with all seem to have one thing in common; they walk to the beat of their own drum.

They want to do things their way. They don’t mind breaking with tradition, or getting a creative, or refusing to do things because they’ve always been done that way. My role is making sure that you get what you need and want to make your wedding feel as authentic as possible.

I am also an experienced event manager who understands the flow of a ceremony, how to work with suppliers and how to plan your ceremony properly to create a seamless experience for you and your guests. If you're hosting your wedding in my home town of Daylesford I can also help you find local suppliers, from cake makers to photographers!
